We recognised a gap existed between the simple, domestic timeclocks and thermostats supplied by heating contractors and the complicated, expensive Building Management Systems (BMS) originally intended for large commercial buildings, yet increasingly being fitted into homes. Fibre optics firm Starscape will once again be demonstrating its Infinity home cinema star ceiling panels, which have become a regular fixture at EI Live over the past few years. Although the basic display will appear unchanged to visitors who have seen it at previous shows, the panels are subtly different to those first exhibited four years ago. “The past few months have seen the final step in a refinement programme which began two years ago,” says sales director Peter Fagan. “With the introduction of our new screwed coupling for the optical jointing system, we've now improved every single component of the Infinity system. Although the basic concept and look of the product are more or less the same as when the Mk I was introduced four and a half years ago, the Mk II, which was introduced in 2016, is a significantly enhanced product. “Our installer customers report back very high levels of client satisfaction. By all accounts the finished installation usually exceeds expectations.” Key features include the speed and ease of installation, fantastic finished effect and the option of fully integrating with popular home automation systems. Crucially, it's also extremely easy to price an Infinity installation, so even from the very outset the Infinity system makes life easier for the home cinema professional.
